Audacious Marine, which has begun building its Cougar workboats on the Shipyard Estate, is bringing a 5m wide catamaran into town by road on April 21, sometime between midday and 5pm.

The boat will have a police escort to help keep things moving, but the company is asking residents to try and keep the route clear of parked cars as far as possible. Residents on the main route will have details delivered through their doors.

The Ramsgate-based business says such movements will only happen perhaps once or twice a year and has apologised in advance for any inconvenience caused to Brightlingsea residents.

A company spokesman added that the business is looking to expand in Brightlingsea, as it’s “a great area for the skills and resources we need.”
