Western Promenade (Councillor V Chapman)

Spoke with Terry today, who advised that posts should be completed by the end of next week or the early part of the following week.  This work as taken somewhat longer than hoped, due to stall illness.

The signs regarding the feeding of ducks, etc., should definitely be in situe some time next week – one on the Oyster Tank Road side of the Boating Lake and one on a wooden backing, to be placed on the boat house wall.

Lakeside Caravan Park – The lease transfer from Mr Poll to Mr McCarthy is going ahead.

Following a query about use of the grass park, I would ask that if anyone knows of a group or organisation who wish to use Town Council facilities, at any time, to please contact the Town Council in good time, so that they are able to do their utmost to help and or advise and put things in motion, prior to any such event.

Skate Park – As mentioned on many previous occasions, if money for a new Skate Park is not forthcoming, the facility will have to close, either all or in part.  I hereby formally request, that S!06 monies be set aside for this project.  I hope the answer will be yes, but even if it is, it will not be available immediately, and I there, further formally request that funds be made available to provide a stainless steel table tennis table for the free use of those who wish to play.  The concrete ones are no longer being manufactured.  I have written to Cllr. Ian Block, Cllr. Steady and the Town Clerk, re-iterating these requests. Apart from this being an added attraction, it would also be a substitute for the Skate Park until funds can be made available to provide a new one.
