Lido (Councillor Barry)

Lido planning for 2020 is well under way with a programme of events in draft form, and a strategy for pre season preparation now under way.  I was very pleased to be able to nominate the Lido volunteers for a ‘Pride of Tendring’ award and a small group led by Pam Corsar will be attending the ceremony to receive their award on February 28th.

Western Promenade (Councillor Howard)

Skate park – Met with Terry Hamilton (Head Groundsman) and Jamie Jenkins (Skate park User) Jamie has offered to help start a ‘User Group’. I am arranging to meet with the Harwich Clerk who has kindly agreed to speak to me about their new skate park which is similar to what we are looking at for Brightlingsea.

Work has started on the footpath by Batemans Tower Cafe, and hopefully should be completed within the next few days.  They are also carrying out remedial works to the footpath around the paddling pool by putting down chemicals to act as an anti-slipping agent.

All of the handrails around the prom have been replaced with galvanised rails.
