Lido (Councillor Barry)

The Lido is slowly closing down with restricted opening on Saturdays and Monday mornings until the end of September. The season has been more of an average in terms of attendances and income, despite the unsettled weather patterns over June, July and August. In contrast to the heatwave of 2018 sunshine hours have been below average during the 2019 season, but we still managed 18,479 admissions up until the end of August generating an income of £68,776. This was well in line with budget forecasts and means the Lido has managed a small operating profit. The café has proved to be a very successful asset, generating £74,769 income up until the end of August, and once wages and purchases have been taken into account it has provided a healthy subsidy to support the Lido development and operating costs.

We have been shortlisted for two revenue grants from the Co-op Community Fund to fund developmental work over the winter and into 2020.
