Essex County Council seem to be sitting on thousands of mobility aids that have not been cleaned and re- distributed to residents who are waiting for them.  These include hospital beds, walking frames and wheelchairs.

There is also a huge delay in getting people home or into care homes from hospital.  Many patients are being accused of bed blocking but it seems NHS and County Councils who sort care packages are holding the system up.

I have been working on several items relating to council houses but am pleased to report that the new homes in Robinson Road under the social housing are being filled, many taken from the Tendring Housing list.

Owls will be doing another mobility day on October 15th at the Council Office.  There will be a chance to try mobility scooters in the car park and other agency’s will be in attendance to give advice.
