On Wednesday 5th July I attended the Lipton Foundation Sailing week held at Brightlingsea Sailing Club. This was with a school from Jaywick who had been selected by the Lipton Foundation under the “Buoyed Up” scheme to promote welfare and well being and to build confidence in young children.

The results in the children were really visible, taking many of them with problems to be much more confident, holding conversations with adults and respecting themselves and the adults around them.

Although invited as Brightlingsea Councillor I was then asked if I would attend as Chairman of TDC, as they liked the thought of a chairman going. I got the invitation extended to Cllr Yallop as Mayor and to the Deputy to the Cinque Port.

We have all received copies of the press release and photos.
