A consultancy company looking at the future of the Waterside Marina on behalf of Hampstead Homes is to hold a consultation event in the Parish Hall on June 23 from 4pm to 7.30pm.

The event is open to all members of the public and will be an opportunity to find out more information about the intended application for the removal of silt that has built up within Waterside Marina.

Aardvark EM says the proposed scheme will include safe disposal of the silt into a geotextile bag system at the entrance of the marina which will form an impoundment to minimise further accretion which currently affects the future viability of the marina. The company says it has completed extensive surveys, sampling and modelling of the marina and surrounding area and from its findings intends to show that visual, environmental and construction impacts have been taken into consideration during all aspects of the project.

The aim of the public consultation is to allow interested parties to see the plans and find out more about the project prior to submission of the planning application and marine licence.
