1.0 CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED:

1.1 Notification from Essex County Council of a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order of High Street, Brightlingsea – due to commence on 19th January 2020 for 1 day. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while Cadent undertakes new gas connection.  Further information can be found at https://one.network/?tm=115505445.

1.2 Copy of e-mails sent to County Councillor Goggin, from Councillor Susan Barker of Essex County Council concerning the closure of the Brightlingsea Library between the 20th – 27th December 2019 due to an unidentified smell.  (Copied to all Councillors).

1.3 Details of the forthcoming Essex County Council Transport meetings taking place during March 2020.  The meeting for Tendring is being held on Friday 6th March at Colchester Town Hall.  (Copied to Councillor Beckett.)

2.0 CORRESPONDENCE REQUIRING ACTION:

2.1 Bert Stocks Fun Fair would like to visit the Western Promenade Site from Monday 20th July – Sunday 26th July 2020.

2.2 The Food & Drink Festival would like to use the Western Promenade for its 2020 Festival, from Wednesday 26th August to Tuesday 1st September 2020.

2.3 The Brightlingsea Community Cinema started back in April 2018 to help raise funds for the Community Centre and to offer another facility to the people of Brightlingsea.  They are inviting local organisations to sponsor one of their forthcoming film nights.  For £50 they would show a bespoke advertisement for the Council during their pre-film show and end the film with a message of thanks from them with the Councils logo.  The Council logo would also appear on all publicity material; posters, tickets and social media and they would happily display our leaflets within the auditorium. 

2.4 Brightlingsea Carnival Association requests permission for the Carnival to hold its usual Car Boot Sales at the Safe Play Area on the Western Promenade on the usual Bank Holiday Dates:  Easter – Monday 13th April, May Day – Friday 8th May, Spring – Monday 25th May and August – Monday 31st August. 

They also request the use of the Bayard Recreation Ground on the third Saturday of June (20th) for Carnival Day.
2.5 Hare & Tortoise Running Ltd would like to hold a ‘Brightlingsea Challenge’ event on the Millennium Gardens on Sunday 15
th March 2020.  This is for a timed running event on local trails and public footpaths starting and finishing in the Millennium Gardens.  They would start setting up at 7.15am, and the event would commence from 9.30am until 3.30pm.  They would like to install a small gazebo and event shelter for aid station.  (Copied of their public liability and risk assessments have already been provided).
