2.0 CORRESPONDENCE REQUIRING ACTION:
2.1 The Brightlingsea & District Rotary Club requests permission to use Millennium Gardens for the finish of this year’s Brightlingsea Jog Walk Run in Aid of Essex Air Ambulance on Sunday 15 September. As in previous years they would like to use a small area of the garden next to the sea wall to put up the finishing tents and to allow people to gather briefly after the race. They would set up the area from approx. 9am and take down the equipment shortly after the final finishers go through so the area will be completely clear again by around 2pm. All proceeds from the race go to Essex Air Ambulance and they typically see from 150 to 200 competitors depending on weather.
2.2 The University Community Sailing Club are competing in the European Fixed Seat Rowing Championships 11-17 October 2019 in Italy. They are purchasing new club T-Shirts for the trip, and wondered if the Town Council would part-sponsor. The t-shirts would have their club logo, a British and Italian flag together with the Town Council logo. The Mayor would like to sponsor, on behalf of the Town Council, through his Mayors fund. This is in line with the sponsorship given a few years ago, when the Sailing Club members were part of the British team which went to Australia for a competition.
(Councillor Steady declares that he is a social member of the UCSC but does not take part in the rowing)
