Food and Drink Festival –
We are just trying to come to terms that our event might happen again 🙂
With all the uncertainty you will not be surprised that we are looking at a familiar format. We have a number of scenarios we are working to depending on how things develop, which would firstly result in only limited pitches being made available in the first stage.
We would like to hold the event on Friday 27th – Sunday 29th August, with the Friday being an evening only event as previous year’s.
As usual we would like to be on site total Wednesday 25th until Wednesday 1st and pack down as much as possible for the car boot sale on Monday 30th as per norm.
Do we have confirmation that we can book the site for this period? What will the pitch fee be?
Bert Stocks Funfair –
Would we be able to book for the fair this year 7th – 20th of June? All places we are planning to attend this year are a 2 week duration rather than 1 to allow for more days so we can control and if needed limit daily public numbers as we found this worked well last year in aiding social distancing. This would also help make up for us not attending last year.
Please let me know if this would be possible and if so if the above dates are available.
DDMix with Katie –
DDMix would like to start outdoor classes again on the Bayard Recreation Ground on a Tuesday from 6-7pm from the 18th May 2021.
Brightlingsea U3A – are planning a series of events to publicise the U3A movement, to raise the profile of Brightingsea U3A and hopefully challenge the negative perceptions that exist of those in their third age. Overall the U3A seeks to provide the valuable contribution that people can make to the well-being and liveliness of the community.
The events being planned are:-
Monday 31st May – 10.30am: Boules on the boules pitch in Promenade Way
Wednesday 2nd June – 10.30am: Walking group (walk round the area)
Wednesday 2nd June – 10am to Midday: a presence in the High Street and Victoria Place with banners and leaflet distribution.
Friday 4th June – 2pm: Games on the Green, using the grassed area between the Lido and the Car Park.
On Wednesday 2nd June they would like to put up a Gazebo with a table, banners, posters etc. and to give out leaflets. Ideally they would like to use the war-memorial area as this is the most central, if not, could they use the Victoria Garden area, opposite the Spar. They are also asking if we could help publicise these events by mentioning them in the Council newsletter etc.
Councillors will be very welcome to come to and join in any of the events.
