- Adoption of kiosk 01206 302013 Waterside, Brightlingsea –
Further to the recent discussions regarding the above, TDC were advised that BTC would like to consider the option of ‘adopting’ this phone box.
We have now been advised by BT that:-
“As this is a modern style kiosk, not the traditional red kiosk, they only allow this style of kiosk to be adopted if they are needed to house a defibrillator. Please confirm if this is the reason you wish to adopt, if not, then I am afraid we would look to remove the kiosk.”
Contact has been made with the Brightlingsea First Responders to see if there is a need for another defibrillator at the Hard. Their comments are as follows:-
“There is a Defib in the Harbour Office, owned by them, it is only available when they are open, during the winter they close about 1600 in the afternoon.
We were going to investigate putting one down there in a cabinet so it is available 24/7.
I have been down to the Telephone box and had a look, there is a sticker on the light inside that says that the light does not work as there is no electricity supply.
The Defib cabinets have a heater fitted to protect the Defib below 5c, so need an electrical supply. Do you know if an electrical supply would be possible and BT are happy to bear the cost of the electric ?
It is something we may be able to work together with you on.”
Your comments/thoughts on adopting this phone box please.
