Essex County Council’s highways department has given notice of a temporary footpath closure in Brightlingsea. The notice states:

“Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: to temporarily close that length of Footpath 31, Brightlingsea in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 90 metres generally east of its junction with Footpath 26 (at Morgan Marine), east for a distance of approximately 135 metres to Underwood’s Hard.

The closure is scheduled to commence for 2 weeks between 15 June 2015 and 1 November 2015 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting, and are required for the safety of the public and workforce while construction of agricultural Poly Houses is undertaken.

The alternative route will be via the track located on the rear of the defence.

The Order will come into effect on 15 June 2015 and may continue in force for 6 months, or until the works are finished, whichever is the earlier.”
