Councillor Graham Steady, who has now taken over as Chairman of the Finance & Property Committee, said at the Committee Meeting held on 2nd June 2016, that out of the three levels of Local Government – Essex County Council, Tendring District Council and Brightlingsea Town Council – Essex and Tendring have made significant cuts to their budgets. 

At the same time the Town Council has maintained its budgets at a consistent level, but that the Town Council will be looking at its assets and the financial implications of their use or non-use as the case may be.
