A five home development on the edge of Brightlingsea has been given the go ahead.

Tendring District Council (TDC) has approved a scheme for NEEB Holdings Ltd in Samsons Road which includes garages and separate accesses. The site was previously used as a commercial highways depot and has now been cleared and is now made up of large areas of hardstanding.

It already has permission for four bungalows but the developers want to increase that to five four-bedroom bungalows. TDC decided that the proposal – for the land outside the settlement development boundary – is sustainable and it was approved with nine conditions imposed.

Brightlingsea Town Council supported the application and there were no other letters of representation.
