Councillor Alan Goggin

  • Colne Community College. Joint user group. Last meeting September 29. Graham Steady & I attended. Whilst takings appear to be slightly up the numbers as recorded were dramatically down. General consensus was that the “recording” of numbers was different to before – hence the sudden drop. It was agreed to look again at the “systems” and revise them.
  • The “knock-on” is that I believe the School are paying particular attention to the numbers and may be making strategic decisions soon. If we are to maintain the level of co-operation it is important to make all realise that the residents of Brightlingsea value the facility. In short – “use it or lose it – or even part of it!”
  • A replacement for Lincoln is being sought. This will not only help with the sports centre but also administration and management linked to the swimming pool.

Aldous Museum Trust.

  • No official meeting since the last TC,.

Councillor Janet Russell

TDALC – The members present at the TDALC meeting had a very interesting and lively presentation from Catherine Boyer-Besant (TDC officer responsible for Emergency Planning) should any member of Brightlingsea Town Council be offered the chance to go to one of her briefing sessions, I would recommend it as well worth while.

The meeting elected the second representative to EALC (to serve alongside Cllr Mike Talbot from St Osyth) in a very close ballot which was won by Cllr Linda Belgrove from Alresford.!

(Vivien was unable to be at the meeting as she was being Mayor that evening)
