Western Promenade (Councillor Howard)

Terry Hamilton and I met with Gary Clarke, Chairman of the Model Boat Club.  Gary informed us that a member had fallen in the lake while operating his boat. It appears he was on the right hand corner of the lake near the lido and it had been raining a lot so it was very slippery and he lost his footing. Thankfully other members were at hand and he wasn’t injured just very cold and wet.

Water does always lay around this area of the lake in the winter and Terry informed us that it would be quite a big job to deal with, but that he would look into it.

Gary also wanted us to confirm that the water would be kept on in the lido toilets as they have use of this in the winter, we have confirmed that it will be.

Youth & Services for Children (Councillor Howard)

The ‘Drop In’  is still doing well, Chantel and Neil Y.M.C.A Youth leaders have brought in some new games for Winter we had: Bingo, Table Tennis, and some new group Xbox games.  Unfortunately on Monday 11th Nov (after putting our advert on Spotted: Facebook) the Community Centre decided that we couldn’t have our block booked room that night as the Panto Group would be in there. This amount of notice is unacceptable and they didn’t offer us an alternative. Therefore, we had to cancel the club.
