A Footpath Meeting was held on Friday 18th March 2016, led by Councillor
Graham Steady, Terry Hamilton, the Council’s Grounds Manager, and Roy Read from Natural England

Councillor Steady reported:-

The meting was attended by 53 residents; various questions were asked and
answered on the night.

Roy Read from Natural England joined in the presentation and is keen for us to liaise with him regarding Natural England’s scheme for a coastal path. An interesting point which was discussed was a crossing in the vicinity of the old railway bridge and the ford. At this stage everything is being considered so watch this space.

The next stage is to make contact with the interested groups and work to a plan so everyone can be catered for. There have been comments on social media regarding a footpath running along and incorporating the jetty on the hard, this was not brought up on the night. The Ordnance survey map we have does not show any such path, but I will continue to discuss this
with Natural England.

I have been asked since the meeting re this but the information I have given has been misreported on social media.
