COUNCIL MEETING – 20TH OCTOBER 2011
Minute 103 – Questions from the Public.
Q1) Anna Burnett – The Fishmonger is concerned about the sale of fish on the Hard. I understand it is down to Tendring District Council whether or not he can sell down there, it will affect him if fish is sold elsewhere in the Town. A wet fish shop is very rare, can the Council do anything to help?
A1) The Mayor replied that the Council has put in its concerns to the planning application. A stall in this area would set a precedent. Councillor Mann said that they have been working illegally for 5 weeks, and TDC did nothing to stop him. The Mayor replied that TDC have started the process of enforcement.
Q2) Richard Price – 75,000 lights are to be switched off in Essex. Can the Council find out which lights in Brightlingsea are included in this number?
A2) The Mayor replied that this would be looked into.
Q3) Pauline Lawrence – A double mattress has been dumped in George Cut, near Tower Street/Sydney Street.
A3) The Mayor said that this would be reported to Tendring District Council.
