COUNCIL MEETING – 18TH APRIL 2013
Minute Number 222 – Questions from the Public.
Q1) Mrs Cook – In two weeks time we have the county Council Elections. Would it be possible for the Council to organise and manage a meeting to invite all candidates to outline their priorities and answer questions?
Q2) Councillor Aldridge read out a question from Richard Price – I am unable to attend the meting, however what is the criteria for matters going into Part B of meetings?
A1)The Mayor replied that this had been discussed before. After discussion it was then agreed to invite all candidates to a meeting on Thursday 25th April at the Parish Hall at 7.30 pm.
A2) The Mayor replied that the following is seen as desirable to discuss as confidential:-
a) Engagement, terms of service, conduct and dismissal of employees
b) Terms of tenders, and proposals and counter-proposals in negotiations for contracts
c) Preparation of cases in legal proceedings
d) The early stages of any dispute
Therefore the discussion of property/leases etc is confidential, as is staff related matters.
She stated that of course, if a member requests an item to be put on the Agenda and they believe it to be of a sensitive nature, they can ask for it to be under Part B. As with all Council agendas, this is then confirmed/agreed by the Mayor.
