COUNCIL  MEETING – 17TH  MARCH 2011

Minute 201 – Questions from the Public.

Q1) Mr Price – The services to Brightlingsea are all being cut – the Police Station is moving, the roads – who knows who to contact, the swimming pool – Councillor Mann is doing a good job but there is unease in case TDC goes back on its word.  Apparently there is to be a review on toilets – has this review been carried out and how will it affect Brightlingsea?  The library is not going to open late, is the tip at St Osyth is going to close?

A1) Answers were given as follows:

Toilets – Cllr V Chapman replied that she had not heard anything.
Swimming Pool – The Mayor replied we only know what we have been told.
Library – Cllr Aldridge replied that there are options for the library.  Brightlingsea has been put at No. 5 – 7,000-10,000 users, but ECC have used figures from 2007.  We are going to send a letter to ask them to use the 2010 figures, not the 2007 figures.
Tip at St Osyth – The Mayor replied that we have not heard that it is closing.
Parking – Cllr Aldridge replied that not many people are aware that this is changing at the end of the month.  She then asked the three TDC Cllrs some questions on the Northern Partnership Scheme.  Cllr Goggin stated that he had been told that each area and town would have an input and that we will be consulted before any changes.  Cllr Aldridge said she would be writing to ECC and TDC  to try and get some answers to her questions.
