COUNCIL MEETING – 15TH AUGUST 2013
Minute Number 063 – Questions from the Public.
1) Mr Dennis Ingate – I have started up a campaign to try and get the railway reinstated. What is the Councils position on this? After discussion the Mayor said that in principle the council would have no objection to this.
2) Richard Price – Can Alan Goggin explain the new planning rules (as detailed in his report from last month)? Councillor Goggin replied that he has been to briefings, there are interesting changes to town centre planning –where previously there were so many shops, so many A1 offices etc, that has gone out of the window – now it is much easier for a shop to turn into an office. The council can also no longer object to a planning extension to a house less than 5 metres from the back unless the neighbours either side objects as well.
