The Brightlingsea residents and organisations who won Pride of Tendring Awards for 2015 received their accolades in front of almost 200 people at Clacton’s Princes Theatre on February 6.

John and Pat Eaton of Brightlingsea First Responders, Royal British Legion member George Stevens and Brightlingsea In Bloom gaining recognition for their community efforts.

The awards highlight and reward those from many walks of life who make a real difference to their community and they are all nominated by Tendring District Councillors.

TDC Chairman Val Guglielmi hosted the awards. “We are very fortunate in Tendring with the excellent community spirit which exists right across our whole District and it is only right and proper that we recognise that with these awards,” she said. “There were some fantastic stories of selflessness in the citations read out and we are proud of all our recipients and the hundreds of others who do so much good work in our wonderful community.”

The awards were presented by TDC Leader Mick Page and TDC Chief Executive Ian Davidson. Master of ceremonies was Brightlingea councillor Alan Goggin.
