Brightlingsea Town Council are pleased to announce that they have received the following awards from the Essex Playing Fields Association:-

  • Silver Award for the Bayard Recreation Ground – Class 1 Playing Field serving a community with over 2,500 inhabitants
  • Silver Award for the Bayard Recreation Ground Play Area – Class 3 The Gerald Snook Award for children’s playgrounds (whether on or off playing fields but judged apart from any playing field on which they are situated)
  • Merit Award – Class 4 Cricket Field (stand-alone or part of a playing area)
  • Silver Award for the Bayard Recreation Ground – Class 6 Football Field (stand-alone or part of a playing field)

Councillor Graham Steady, Mayor of Brightlingsea said once again our staffs commitment to maintaining a high standard of maintenance and improvements of community assets  have been recognised, congratulations to them.  The judgment made by the Town Council some time ago to invest in these assets, has proved to be sound.
