I attended a Scouts Committee Meeting with Terry, to discuss their use of the Boating Lake. They have had a good season, and hope to put boats on the water during the October half-term holiday, weather permitting. They will send us 10% of their takings, as usual, after the holiday.
They had a request that a protective bumper-type thing be put around the edge of the lake where the boats are launched to ease their entry into the water. Terry said he would deal with this.
We are still waiting to get a start date for the work on the Skate Ramp, and also a start date for the replacement piece of equipment to be installed in Pawson’s Playground, following the insurance claim.
Various minor outstanding items around the Prom., have been resolved, and those who had been concerned, are very pleased.
There has been an on-going problem with the grass car park being flooded, and we have been waiting for TDC to return, following an initial investigation. On Monday this week, Terry decided to investigate further himself and he and two of the grounds staff worked to clear the drains all day and in to Tuesday. I have contacted TDC to ask them to return to see the work done and to follow through with any other work that may be required and to discuss how to avoid the drains getting in to this state in the future.
The Model Boat Club held a Twilight Sail on Monday evening, which I attended.
I continue to receive weekly beach hut reports from the Beach Hut Association.
