Welfare cuts are due to come into force from April 2016, the most you can get when all your benefits are added together is £20,000 outside London, slightly more when your in London. For single people it will be £13,400 outside London. Some people are already being re interviewed regarding befits and rent allowances. If you earn over £30,000, you may find your rent going up also.

Have been involved with 2 local residents and had a care package and equipment put into place.

Attended a meeting about setting up a food bank in Brightlingsea. This was well attended and although there are no plans for a permanent office it is hoped that perhaps the Colchester food bank will come to Brightlingsea twice a week. More meetings are to follow.
