Election of a Parish Councillor for the Parish of Brightlingsea

  1. An Election is to be held for One Councillor for the Parish of Brightlingsea.
  1. Nomination papers may be obtained during office opening hours (8.45 a.m. to 5.15 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays and 8.45 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. on Fridays), from the offices of the Returning Officer at the Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO15 1SE or the Clerk to Brightlingsea Town Council at The Parish Hall, Victoria Place, Brightlingsea, Essex CO7 0BP, who will, at the request of any local government elector for the electoral area, prepare a nomination paper for signature. Nomination papers are also available to download from www.tendringdc.gov.uk.
  1. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO15 1SE, during office opening hours (8.45 a.m. to 5.15 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays and 8.45 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. on Fridays), after the date of this notice but no later than 4.00 p.m. on Friday, 13th November 2015.
  1. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 10th December 2015.
  1. Applications for, amendments to or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO15 1SE by 00 p.m on Wednesday, 25th November 2015.
  1. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO15 1SE by 00 p.m. on Wednesday, 2nd December 2015.
  1. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election applied for on the grounds of a medical emergency or because of work/service reasons, either of which must have occurred after 00 p.m. on Wednesday, 2nd December 2015, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO15 1SE by 5.00 p.m. on Thursday, 10th December 2015.
