Following the Annual Council Meeting on May 19, Councillor Karen Yallop – pictured right with predecessor Jayne Chapman – is now Mayor for 2016/2017 and Councillor Ian Block is the Deputy Mayor.

 The members with special responsibilities are changing, and are now to be called Councillor Contact and Coordinators.  They are as follows:-

  •  Amenity Areas & Open Spaces – Councillors Barry and Steady
  • Western Promenade  & Swimming Pool – Councillors V Chapman, Block and Howard
  • Youth & Services for Children – Councillor Howard
  • Footpaths & Allotments – Councillor Steady
  • Tourism & Communication – Councillor Yallop
  • Welfare and Services for the Elderly – Councillor J Chapman
  • Hard & Harbour – Councillors Ingate and Smith
  • Transport & Highways – Councillors Dixon and Judson
