  1. PLANNING APPLICATIONS:

The following applications had been received by Tendring District Council:

Application No: 17/01257/FUL – Proposed cartlodge with store, workshop, hobby room and first floor games room/home office with new access gates and walls – Mill Farm, Hurst Green, Brightlingsea

  1. The proposed plan ‘Sections and Elevations’ does not accurately reflect the height of the already build section of the workshop/sewing room which is in fact the same height as the ridge on the annexe building of no. 54 Hurst Green, not 56 as shown on the plan. The roofline of this part of the new building should have been lower that that of no. 54.
  2. Thus the proposed extended height of the ‘cartlodge’ phase will be substantially higher than the gable end of the annexe of no. 54 and therefore will especially overshadow the lower section of roof of this building to which it is adjacent.
  3. The new ‘street scene’ plan does also not reflect the height of the existing bungalow.
  4. The change of use of materials for the roof from natural slate to clay pantile is also not in keeping with that of the bungalow or the surrounding area.
  5. The proposed extension of the roof height of the cartlodge is not in keeping with other buildings in the area and is out of proportion to the single storey building it is replacing.
