487. PLANNING APPLICATIONS:
The following applications had been received by Tendring District Council:
09/01191/FUL Brightlingsea Water tower, Church Road, Brightlingsea – Demolition of existing water tower and machinery replaced with a development of 11 houses.
Brightlingsea Town Council Recommends Approval however would like the following comments to be considered:
(1) Demolition of the water tower – concerns over dust and possibly asbestos. Can this be demolished in a safe and clean way?
(2) Security fencing on the northern edge, where the site boundaries meet nearby resident’s properties – can we ensure this will happen.
(3) Concerns over parking in Church Road – Due to the restricted amount of parking on the proposed new site, this is going to be an issue.
(4) Parking in Lodge Road – The plans indicate two parking spaces at the very end of Lodge Road. Is this part of the site?
09/01258/FUL Haven Village, Promenade Way, Brightlingsea – Variation of condition 1 of the planning permission TEN/93/00860 to allow full occupancy at the following times: a) At any time during the period 1st March in any one year and 14th January in the subsequent year, b) At weekends from 8am Friday to 10pm on Monday, c) Between 8am and 10pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Brightlingsea Town Council makes no comment as ground landlord but adds that the Town Council is mindful that it is a holiday caravan site with a planning condition restricting residency to the holiday period and it is in an area subject to flood risk. Therefore we would hope that Tendring District Council would adhere to and follow current planning law.
