• Regatta Ctte meeting 10 March.  Event May 31/June 1.  Biggest proposed change is that Morgan Marine will be holding a boat show inside the Marina.  There could also be use of the closed units for the weekend.  Have abandoned the idea of a continental Market but we will be offering stalls at a much reduced rate for any local business’s.  All hope that they will take advantage.  Would be interested in Councillors opinions.  .Comments & suggestions welcome. Next Committee meeting April 7 – all welcome. Town Hall.  19.00 hrs.
  • On the Sunday of the Regatta (June 1) The Deputy – Roger Tabor – is recreating a blessing of the waters and “beating the bounds” at sea to claim areas for Brightlingsea.  Wonderful historic and pageant opportunity for the Town to show its best.  The Lord Warden is visiting again.  2nd time in 6 months.  Compared to nothing for over 30 plus years – that’s great.  Plenty of visitors from other Mayors/Chairman throughout East Anglia.  Great tourism opportunity.  Possible TV coverage.
  • My note at the last meeting has taken an interesting turn.  It appears that further meetings may be held in March/April with European representatives and the Harbour Authorities.  Not sure where this is going yet but at least it is not an outright no.  There are possibly 3 projects which may affect Brightlingsea.  As soon as I have any positive news I will advise.  Mayor is being kept informed.
  • Next harbour users meeting Friday 28 Feb.  Any comments please advise.
  • Launch of new boat from CTruk – Friday March 21.  Its 20 metres. Councillors welcome but please liaise direct with Amanda Cetin for catering purposes.
  • Repainting of hard shelter to start soon.
