• Contact has been made with the Essex Fire and Rescue service about setting up a Fire Cadets group in Brightlingsea. This is aimed at engaging with 13-17 year olds through activity based meetings, supporting community projects and training for Duke of Eduinburgh award. I have agreed to meet further with representatives to look at funding and other support options.
  • The recent Winterfest weekend in the town was a great success raising the profile of mental health issues and the work of MIND. I was contacted by organisers and the council will be looking to support the annual event in the future.
