Minutes of the Extra Ordinary Council Meeting held at 

The Parish Hall, Victoria Place, Brightlingsea, and streamed on Zoom, 

on: Thursday 20th May 2021 at 7.00 p.m.

018. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE: Councillor M Beckett.

019. DECLARATION OF DISCLOSABLE PECUNIARY INTERESTS:

The Mayor reminded Members to declare interests when necessary.  

020. CO-OPTIONS:

Eight candidates had put their names forward for co-option to the Town Council.  Each candidate, who was invited to attend the meeting at different times, gave a short presentation explaining about themselves, and what they could offer to the Council and the community.  Each candidate was asked a question by five members of the Council, to which replies were given. 

Once all the candidates had been interviewed and left the meeting, the voting, by secret ballot, took place.

The voting was independently verified by the Town Clerk, Tracey Pulford, and the Administrative Assistant, Julie Crittenden.

The Town Clerk then informed the meeting that the co-opted Councillors are:- Richard Morgan, Beverly Maltby, Matthew Court and Simone Hawkins.

021.     CLOSE OF MEETING:

There being no further business, the meeting closed at 9.28 p.m.
