We had the following response from Essex County Council on its grass cutting programme:
The grass cutting for road side verges is usually done twice a year and takes place during the late spring and late summer months.
The 1st cut is complete, and the 2nd cut is in discussion – this is likely to be done by the end of October.
We only undertake rural cuts in Tendring and all urban cuts are done by the local council.
The list of areas you are enquiring about are Public Rights of Way, and they have a different programme.
In respect of PROW footpaths and the vegetation clearance, please visit the Essex County Council website for further details:
We do not cut verges which are on private land.
We need to plan a way forward to ensure that the state of the footpaths are improved. This could mean the Council taking on the maintenance of certain areas/paths.
In the process of preparing a presentation for a meeting with all interested parties.
Have requested that the Grounds Manager does a check on what materials/equipment we have available for footpaths. This will be incorporated into the presentation mentioned above.
