• BAYARD RECREATION GROUND.

A grant of £10,000 has been awarded from the Community Initiative Fund for upgrading play equipment on the Rec. The application was made by the Grounds Manager Terry Hamilton and he is commended for the outcome. The current Mayor, Councillor Jayne Chapman has also managed to obtain an award of £3000 from the Co-op towards a roundabout which is accessible for children with disabilities. It is hoped that a major overhaul and improvement programme of the playground will take place sometime in the Spring next year.

  • Representations have been received from the football club users of the Rec regarding the poor state of the water supply to the showers. It is hoped that improvements will be made within the next few weeks to address this problem.
  • A site meeting has taken place with the council’s solicitors on the Rec, and it is anticipated that there will be some draft lease documents forthcoming in the very near future.
