1 July 21.  Advise Cllr. Barry system for brown signs re Lido. Email. CC to clerk + Cllr Steady
2 July 16.  Minuted agenda item. Complaint at July meeting from Cllr. Beckett re Truancy system at Colne Academy. Requested details from ECC portfolio holder for Education.  Response circulated to Cllrs 18 Aug. ECC have no involvement.
3 July 16.  AG meeting with Cllr. Judson at Mill Street to confirm location for speed and volume traffic survey.  Confirmed request and position to ECC. Checked by Cllr. Steady and reported to Councillors.
4 July 23.  AG meeting Victoria Cafe B’Sea with Cllr Judson & Highways repair & maintenance “buddy”- [PR]. Overview and site visits to:-

  • Back Waterside Lane.  Request to challenge engineer report.  Buddy agreed to raise and report back. Resident later advised.
  • High Street. Resident [LG]. Look at surface drainage with request to clean drains.  Red dot and resident confirms drains there and in rest of High Street cleaned in last 2 weeks.  Later advised resident plus pointed towards flood grant application at ECC.
  • Bellfield Avenue. Reminder to check make safes and report to portfolio holder for special attention.  May require Member request.  Email sent.
5 July 19.  AG Zoom ECC Covid briefing. Update numbers.
6 July 20. AG visit to resident helped with return of hospital bed to ECC.[CH]
7 July 21. AG Meeting with 4 residents in Maltings updating initial discussions with site engineer, planning, with changes.  Promised site visit for owners to School.  AG to arrange.
8 July 23.  Colne Academy Site meeting. AG, Headmaster, Chief engineer, portfolio holder plus his deputy, plus other County Councillors. Dramatic reduction in build time with “modular” system. Opportunity to discuss residents objections. Agreements for further amendments achieved. Also confirmed Zebra Crossing position. At £6.5 million possible biggest single investment in Town from ECC.
9 July 26. Site meeting. Victoria Café. AG meet with LHP “Buddy” [TE]. Update issues.
10 July 26.  Resident complaint to AG about foot-ferry and facilities for any traveller with disabilities.  Discussed with harbour master with result that website amended, and changes made to procedure.  Replied by email to resident. Harbour master made own contact too. Discussed with Cllr Carr.
11 July 27.  First meeting of full new ECC scrutiny chairs. Next few years targets. Avoid overlaps.
12 July 27.  Assist with All Saints lottery grant application needing ECC confirmation re B1027 and expected affects on church.  Email sent [Mrs FS].
13 July 27.  Resident complaint to AG re Red Barn Road, and Pathway 5.  Comments re cut back.  Established not BTC, TDC or ECC.  Request to PROW team.  Completed in 4 working days including Morses lane end.  Site visit with resident.  Options discussed. Good discussion with Tendring Rangers [AH] re PROW’s and pathways.
14 July 29.  “Happy to chat” seat in Victoria Gardens.  Sign installed.  AG with Cllr Chapman [mayor] to “open”!
15 Aug 5.  Local fisherman clinic.  Fishing problems. Bring to Kent & Essex Fisheries attention.
16 Aug 12.  Application to ECC for B’Sea food bank.  Covid support for families.
17 Aug 13.  AG supporting CIF grant applications from BTC for Pawsons Playground & Skateboard Park.  Clerk supplying financial details to help.
18 AG involved in resident complaint for broadband supply in Folkards Lane.  Made recommendations. Spoke fellow neighbours.
19 List of reported road & highway defects sent from BTC office. AG sent with request for update to ECC.
20 BTC advised by ECC of future road & carriageway repairs requiring road closures for machine surfacing:-

  • October 20 X 3 day – Church Road
  • October 21 X 4 days – Victoria Place & Station Road
  • October 22 X 4 nights -Church Road
