Problems with power to fountain Discussions involving Julie, Cllr Chapman. Nice to see power reinstated and fountain working. Believe that Power ownership resolved.

Resident has problems with Colne school re her daughters’ diet and other issues. Emails exchanged. Discussions with Cllr Chapman. Suggested & recommended that she contacts board of governors before going to press.

Call in Aug 8 AG attended AG reading report.   Interesting to read what residents and users want from the building. Nice to see a long list of volunteers who want to achieve more.

Problem with overall budget being resolved. Included a meeting which Ian Davidson attended. First good news is that £50K outstanding now included back in budget. Immediately applied to Tendring Rangers budget.   Note their opportunities. I am recommending that all Councils keep in touch with Steve Gove @TDC to see if any of extra ECC money can be spent here in Brightlingsea.

Section 278 funding projects. Although under LHP the Committee are not actively involved in day to day actions. A. Brightlingsea Marina. Bollards, Kerbing, widened footpath etc.

B. Robinson Road. Phase 1 & 2.   Hopkins Homes funded

In process. I believe money already paid?

Street light outside Tesco/bus stop. Still not repaired. Awaiting report on escalation. Disappointed that nothing yet resolved.

  I have 5 sites.   All appear to be close to being accepted. Report from Cllrs. Beckett & Judson submitted to ECC with approval.   First choice Chapel Rd. Awaiting engineers site report visit this week. Probably works will be restricted to Chapel Road.

Attended quarterly meeting in Gravesend. September 16. Based here in Brightlingsea. They are purchasing a new boat. To be commissioned during winter. AG has recommended some sort of “ceremony”. May be TV coverage plus local press. Will invite Council & Mayor when more details known.

Attended member briefing. September 10. County Hall. Essex appears to have done well overall. Extra funds for highways overall, new road from Greenstead, pupil premium for our schools, extra for special needs, selected Town centre regenerations & other bits. Early days yet. Money looks secure but it was definitely only a one year amount. Longer term may depend upon Brexit and/or election results.
High Street Speeding.

Residents child requested action re speeding outside her house in Brightlingsea High Street. Referred to whole High Street. I replied direct to residents child, with copy to Clerk. Probably b est addressed by BTC as requests included rumble strips, etc.
Queen Street & Windsor Court. One way system.

Letter from resident. Requesting action re Queen Street where one half of road is one way. Confusion towards town centre end. Problem.   Drivers leaving Windsor Court and turning right are meeting cars coming up Queen Street who think its one way all the way along> Spoke to resident. Discussed process for LHP. Suggested first spoke to BTC. Knows several Cllrs. Personally.
“T” junction &   crossroads. Station Road. Resident notified of pole holding Give Way sign damaged. Possible car accident cause? Reported to ECC.   Sign itself disappeared. Pole on grass in gardens. Requested pole removal. On list of “works”. Anybody know if car accident? Their insurance?

Dangerous tree overhanging. Reported by Terry Hamilton. Original request faltered when not sure whose land tree was on? Discussions and exchange of emails to ECC requesting urgent action. “just visited tree its completely gone, thanks for your help”. Terry
