The By-Election for the Essex County Council division of Brightlingsea – required after the resignation of sitting councillor Roger Lord – will take place on October 9, 2014.
Poll Cards will be sent to those on the electoral register in the next few days. These will let people know where they will be able to cast their vote or, if they have applied to vote by post, when they can expect to receive their postal voting papers.

Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm on the day.
The last day for people to be included on the electoral register is Tuesday September 23 so anyone wanting to vote in either of them must register by that date. If you haven’t registered you can do so on line by going to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

All you need is your name, address, date of birth and your National Insurance Number and it takes less than five minutes.

The telephone number for queries about the electoral register is 01255 686566.
