Welcome to Brightlingsea Town Council

On our website you’ll find information about the facilities and services the Council maintains for Brightlingsea, a town with a population of around 8,500, located on the Essex coast at the mouth of the River Colne. It’s in the Harwich and North Essex Parliamentary Constituency.

Brightlingsea Town Council is made up of 11 Councillors, most of whom have responsibilities for specific areas within the town. Brightlingsea returns three representatives to Tendring District Council, and has one representative on Essex County Council.  The Mayor for 2020-2021 is Councillor Graham Steady and the Deputy Mayor is Councillor Jayne Chapman.

Meetings of the full Town Council are held on the third Thursday of the month at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall.

Members of the public are welcome to attend and can ask questions at the beginning of the meeting.
