Following an invitation from Brightlingsea Town Council, a meeting was held on Thursday 30th March 2017, with the Police and Crime Commissioner, and Tendring Community Police Inspector Deeks,. A full and frank discussion took place where the concerns of the Council were raised and the Commissioner gave his views.

All CCTV cameras in the town are working and the police have this facility at their disposal. They did stress that any non-emergency incidents are either raised on 101, or online via www.essex.police.uk

Certain crimes have been solved and arrests made but it was highlighted by the Town Council that the success needs to be more widely publicised.

The Police & Crime Commissioner said that they are actively looking to recruit Special Constables. If anyone is interested in this appointment, please see www.policecouldyou.co.uk/special-constables
