The Town Council office staff are working from home, a rota has been formed for our grounds staff to carry out regular checks/maintenance on council owned property, but all council staff  are on call for any eventuality,  The playgrounds at the Bayard Recreation Ground and Pawsons (Western Promenade) are closed with immediate effect, however the Recreation Ground remains open for exercise, as per government guidelines.

A volunteer scheme is up and running and is being led by Councillor Jayne Chapman.  If you wish to volunteer, please see following link: or alternatively call 01206 303535.

As a Town Council, we are receiving regular updates from Tendring District Council, Essex County Council, our MP Sir Bernard Jenkin and the Essex Association of Local Councils.

Due to the uncertainty of the length of the current crisis, we are reviewing our budgets so that Town Council services can be maintained.  Tendring District Council will be advising, in the next few days, what extra powers they will be given to support our communities.

We will be issuing further statements via the Town Council web-site, free publications i.e. The Chronicle, and other sources.

Please abide by the government guidelines to ensure we all stay safe.

Best Wishes

Councillor Graham Steady – Mayor of Brightlingsea, Town Councillors and Staff.
