The vaccination programme is progressing well and I am pleased to say that 2407 of our patients have now received their first dose of either the Pfizer or Astra Zeneca vaccine.

Many of our patients are telling us they are waiting to have the vaccine at the surgery. I cannot stress enough the importance of attending other sites to have the vaccine if you are able. There is no guarantee of another vaccine clinic at Colne Medical Centre; clinics here will depend on vaccine type, supply and the availability of staff to administer and run these sessions. Our staff are also working across the centrally run clinics in Clacton, Harwich and Colchester.

Our admin team are still calling patients over 70 who have no mobile telephone number or who have not responded to our invitation to book. Please do not call reception as this blocks the line for those requiring medical attention, we will call you.

Bookings are now open to those aged 65 and over, text messages will be sent today and as above the admin team will begin manual calls to patients.

If you require assistance with transport to and from the central hubs please call 01255 552010. This service is free for those with a bus pass.

Once again I would ask that you share this message with family and friends who do not have access to social media.

Thank you for your continued patience and support.

Katie Pirie, Practice Manager
