Plans to build four detached bungalows in the garden of a home in Brightlingsea have been turned down by Tendring District Council’s (TDC) Planning Committee on the grounds that the proposal would be harmful to the area.
The South East Developments scheme, for Homefield, in Church Road, included garages for the new homes as well as one for the existing property. There was also concern that the proposed access would have an adverse impact on neighbouring amenities.
Brightlingsea Town Council objected to the plans as unacceptable backland development and had concerns about the impact on traffic. TDC also received four letters of opposition from residents.
