On Sunday 2nd April 2017, the Mayor of Brightlingsea held a joint Civic Service with the Brightlingsea and District Rotary Club in St James’ Church, Brightlingsea.   The service was in celebration of our Community and our Organisations in the Town. The Town Council work closely with the organisations in the town and wanted to thank them for their hard work, as volunteers, throughout the year.

Over 200 guests attended, including Lord Peter, The High Sherif of Essex, Civic Mayors, and other dignitaries, many of whom had travelled from far a field to help us celebrate our community.

The St James Singers and the Hope in Harmony Choir participated in the service. The Hope in Harmony Choir was formed by relatives, following the loss of loved ones who were cared for at St Helena Hospice.

The service raised funds Jointly for the First Responders, a team of dedicated volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day, providing often life saving emergency medical care for our residents.
