A boarding kennels and cattery in Brightlingsea look set for a facelift and improved facilities.

Plans to demolish existing cat pens at the site in Folkards Lane and replace them with eight new pens have been approved by Tendring District Council (TDC). The scheme, which was put forward by Tony Martin, also includes a new food preparation area.

TDC gave the application the all-clear after deciding that the development would have no adverse impact on the surrounding street scene, residential amenity or the Coastal Protection Belt.

Brightlingsea Town Council supported the plans and no other representations were received by TDC.
