A scheme to provide bed and breakfast facilities as part of the restoration of a listed house in Brightlingsea have been given the thumbs up.

Work being carried out for Graeme Moxom on Jacobs Hall in High Street is progressing having previously been given the go ahead by Tendring District Council (TDC).

Now Mr Moxom’s application to create three ensuite letting rooms on the upper floor has been approved along with a tea room on the ground floor. The proposal also includes disabled access, parking and landscaping.

Jacobs Hall is a Grade I Listed property in the town’s Conservation Area. TDC believes that the changes and improvements will enhance the visitor offer in Brightlingsea. There were no objections from Brightlingsea Town Council and one letter of support was received.
