  • Notification from Essex County Council concerning the High Street, Brightlingsea (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2016. The High Street will be closed from its junction of John Street to the junction of Tower Street from 25th April for 5 days. The Hedingham bus diversion route is:- via Station Road, Lower Park Road, Spring Chase, Church Road turn right into Bateman Road (Colne School), Red Barn road, Chapel road turn right into Bellfield Road onto line of route. Unfortunately Hedingham will not be able to serve the stops in the Brightlingsea High Street, Hurst Green or Chapel Road during this closure period.

  • CORRESPONDENCE REQUIRING ACTION:
    • Bert Stocks Funfair already has permission to visit Brightlingsea’s Western promenade from 18th – 25th July 2016. With all the works being carried out at the moment i.e. dirt/levelling off etc., they have asked that if this site is not suitable for them in July, rather than cancel the fair, can they use Hurst Green instead?
    • Carnival Car Boot Sale on 2nd May – If Western Promenade is not ready for such use, can the carnival use other areas in the vicinity. Councillor Russell to advise further.
    • Anzac Committee would like permission to plant two trees (Blue Gum and a Wattle) on the Bayard Recreation Ground.
