The dedicated work to maintain the attractive welcoming, friendly clean and colourful  environment of Brightlingsea has been recognised by the Rural Community Council of Essex.

Brightlingsea Town Councillors and ground staff, in partnership with the enthusiastic team of Brightlingsea In Bloom volunteers and generously supported by residents and businesses, helped the town gain “Best Kept Village of the Year 2015″ (Class 1 – 5,000 – 10,000 population) at the recent awards ceremony at Writtle Horticultural College. The ceremony was attended by Cllr. Graham Steady, representing Brightlingsea Town Council, and Val Gilders, Chairman of Brightlingsea In Bloom.

Since the formation of Brightlingsea In Bloom in 1995 as a part of the RHS Britain In Bloom National Community Environmental Project, the town  has  now won over 40 major national and regional Awards including a coveted RHS Gold Medal.
