Plans to increase the seating area provided for spectators at Brightlingsea Regent Football Club have been approved by Tendring District Council.

The Bostik League club had previously been given the go-ahead for a covered area for 100 fans and the latest approval covers an extension to a covered stand for a further 50 seats at the Taydal Stadium.

The extension will match the existing design of the structure and will be largely hidden from view by a metal enclosure surrounding the pitch. It was not felt that the additional facility would have an adverse impact on neighbouring residents.

Brightlingsea Town Council supported the application and there were no other representations received by the district council.
