COUNCIL  MEETING – 10TH DECEMBER 2009

Minute 141 – Questions from the Public.

Questions
Q1) Anna Burnett wished all Members of the Council a Happy Christmas, and also congratulated the Wool Shop on its 1st Prize; they made all the items themselves.

Q2) Mr Price – With regard to the Nuclear Power Station at Bradwell, are the any public meetings planned.

Q3) Mrs House – Why do Lorries keep parking at the Ladysmith Avenue/end of Seaview Road junction?  They used to park on the other side of the road.  This is now becoming dangerous.

Q4) Brian House asked the Tendring District Councillors whether they will be reducing the amount of parking charges now they have secured £50,000 for regeneration.
 
Answers
A2) The Mayor replied that she had not heard of any meetings being held.  County Councillor Robinson suggested that we contact West Mersea Council direct.

A3) The Mayor replied that she is meeting with police tomorrow and will bring their attention to it.
 
A4) Cllr Steady replied that it was policy to put charges in all Tendring District Council car parks, but this is being reviewed.  Cllr Goggin added that the parking fines and income pays for both off and on street car parking.  Cllr Aldridge said that she had heard on good authority that both the Tower Street and Victoria Place Car Parks were to become free at night from 5pm – 10am; this is a step in the right direction.
