Tendring Report from Cllr V Chapman

19th March - Attended a HOLI ceremony on Clacton Beach in the evening, at the invitation of the couple who run the Indian Temple in Clacton.  A beautiful occasion, when the moon was the nearest to the earth that it has been for 20 years (a rare occurrence), which made it even more special. (Civic).
21st March - Members’ Charter Meeting in the Connaught Room at Clacton Town Hall.  Interviews were held, and this was the final part in the process for the Council getting it’s charter mark, which it did with flying colours. (TDC).
22nd March - Attended Alresford Family Support Lunch, to promote the Census. (TDC).
23rd March - Attended Tendring Community Transport Meeting in Clacton. (TDC).
24th March – Chairman’s Briefing in Clacton Town Hall. (TDC).
25th March – Attended an AGE UK Conference at the Waterfront in Chelmsford, with a TDC Officer.  Interesting speakers on various aspects of the Big Society.  Brought back literature, which is in the office, for information and interest. (TDC – Older Persons’ Forum (Outside Body)).
29th March – Pre-Planning Briefing at Weeley. (TDC).
30th March – Planning Meeting at Weeley. (TDC).
5th April – Corporate Management Meeting at Weeley. (TDC).
13th April – Sure Start Board Meeting at Willow Tree Nursery, Clacton. (TDC Outside Body).
13th April – Community Leadership and Partnership Committee Meeting at Weeley (in attendance). (TDC).
16th April – Concert in St. James’s Church, Clacton – Handel’s Messiah.  (Civic) Afterwards, called at Wesctliff Theatre to see very end of Time to Shine show, in memory of Mike Freeman.  Invited to after-show party. (TDC).
18th April – Pre-Planning Briefing at Weeley. (TDC)
18th April – Service Development and Delivery Committee Meeting at Weeley (in attendance). (TDC).
19th April – Topping-out ceremony  in Clacton.  (Civic).
